Spring
Seabeck Retreat April 4 – 6, 2008
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
You will learn about: The Fruits of the Spirit: patience, understanding,
compassion, forgiveness, and love The history of the soul: from unity to separation and
back again The origin and function of evil Growing along the two axes of the cross:
Vertical toward God and Horizontal toward others Ways to establish a partnership with God The how and why of your relationships with others Developing a daily spiritual practice Conscious evolution and creative process Overcoming Evil with Good: Becoming a Co-creator
with God.
The program is a wonderful introduction to the concepts on the
Edgar Cayce metaphysical readings as well as a most refreshing
“back to basics” course for those long familiar with the readings.
Discussion of the evolution of the soul and the origin of evil
provides a unique and interesting background for the more
practical aspects of the Retreat. This weekend focuses on the transformative power of spiritual
truth when applied in the ordinary moments of daily life. It is
based on the premise that we are companions and co-creators with
God. We were born to create and each moment we have the
opportunity to create good or evil. The choice we make depends
upon the spiritual ideals (truths) we choose to live by and how we
apply them in daily life. Emphasis is on the ways in which we, as
individuals, can become an active part of the creative process, not
only in crisis situations, but also in the ordinary moments of every
day life. It includes several experiential exercises and a guided
meditation.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Kathy L. Callahan, Ph.D.., is a career Naval officer who has an educational background in Anthropology. A student of the Edgar Cayce readings for over 35 years, she has presented workshops at A.R. E. Headquarters and field conferences, is a frequent speaker at Unity churches, and has appeared on radio and television. She is the author of several books: The Medicine Wheel: A Guide to the Sacred Circle; MultiSensory Human: The Evolution of the Soul, Living in the Spirit, Applying Spiritual Truth in Daily Life; In the Image of God and the Shadow of Demons, a Metaphysical Study of Good and Evil, and Unseen Hands and Unknown Hearts, the story of her daughter’s miraculous healing form a life-threatening illness. A very compelling speaker and trainer, Kathy will bring her knowledge of the Edgar Cayce Readings, metaphysics, and comparative religious studies to the Retreat.
This Retreat is based on the book Living in the Spirit, Applying Spiritual Truth in Daily Life, by Kathy L. Callahan, PhD. Mr. Jim Dixon, long-time A.R.E. Representative and Search for God Study Group Ambassador, has this to say about the book upon which the Retreat is based: “At times inspirational, yet always maintaining a focus on the practical aspects of trying to be ‘spiritual’ in today’s materialistic society, she (Kathy) presents practical, down-to-earth reasoning and how-to-steps while never wavering form the theme that all persons are spirit beings – souls - and are capable of becoming one with the God-Force…. The small but potent book…presents a beautifully formulated guide to becoming a fully conscious, creative ‘member in the body of God,’ as St. Paul revealed in the twelfth chapter of First Corinthians.” .
